Becoming partners with us has many benefits for not only your prison but also for our charity! Partnering with us is also a great way to spread the word about the work that you do that previously may not have been heard, and why it is important.

We currently are partners with one prison, please read below for more details.

YourStory is a trusted provider who is expert in providing vision to directionless individuals. In doing so, we give them a sense of purpose and a life free from crime. We are well suited to this role, as we have members of staff who have previously been in prison, meaning they can better understand what current prisoners are going through, and inspire current prisoners to turn their lives around as they have.

Separate to this partnership, we are in contact with lots of organisations and establishments that can benefit the young people that we work with in a multitude of different ways – career wise, mental health wise and wellbeing wise, for example.

HMP Brixton Prison

HMP Brixton Prison is a local South London prison that we are partners with. We have worked with ex prisoners from here in the past, helping them to find accommodation, employment and control their anger management. Ex prisoners we have supported have previously gone on to work with and mentor some of the young people that we work with. We receive referrals from here.

HMP Brixton Prison Radio

HMP Brixton Prison Radio is a radio station broadcasted to prisons in the UK. We have been been on the radio before, hosting a Q & A about the employment and volunteer opportunities that YourStory offers. This was broadcasted nationwide around the UK.

we are trusted by prisoners

We have staff and mentors who have served prison time, so will understand what individuals inside are going through. We can build a rapport and trust with prisoners via prison radio and mentoring sessions, something which prison and authority workers find very difficult to do. This relationship can then be used to help influence them to envision and create better futures for themselves on release.

reducing reoffending rates

The sense of purpose and belonging individuals get when taking part in the YourStory programme will help them to envision a life outside without crime, and will also give them the network to practically achieve their ambitions.
